Northlink staff and students get ready to represent the Western Cape on the National Stage
13 Students and six staff of Northlink College will be taking to the National stage as they represent the Western Cape as part of the WorldSkills SA Western Cape team that will competing at the Durban ICC from 14-16 February 2017 during the WorldSkills SA National Competition.
These 13 students will be participating in various skill areas including Cooking, CNC Turning , IT Network Systems Administration, IT Software Solutions for Business, Plumbing and Heating, Hairdressing and Automobile Technology against the other regions to get a spot in the WorldSkills SA Team that will be traveling to Abu Dhabi later the year.
The six staff members of the College will be representing the College and the Western Cape as National and Regional (Provincial) experts and will be sharing their expertise in the various skills in the build-up to the National Skills competition.
Says Louis Carelse, Northlink College CNC Turning Programme Manager and National Skills Expert in CNC Turning: “We as the Northlink participants are looking forward to the competition as we know that many of the other provinces are looking at what Northlink and the Western Cape is doing with growing and improving skills in the country.”
And to the students: “By getting this far you guys are all winners already! Just go out there and give it your all!” he added.
