Northlink College students part of WorldSkills SA Team

The National WorldSkills Competition was hosted in Durban last week (14-16 February 2017. 32 members represented Team Western Cape in 16 different skill areas and Northlink College obtained four gold, one silver and one bronze medal, the highest medal tally amongst the participating colleges including private organisations.
“The College is proud to have produced such a great result in the WorldSkills SA National Competition. These students will now start fine tuning their skills in preparation for the International WorldSkills Competition (The Olympics of skills) taking place in Abu Dhabi in October this year. Assisting them with this preparation, are the National Skills Experts of which Northlink College is also proud to announce that they have three National Skills Experts. They are Louis Carelse – CNC Turning; Ryan Marsh – Plumbing and Heating; and Joe Motsapi – IT Network Systems Administration.
76 countries will be participating in more than 50 different skills areas during the competition.
“Northlink is committed to help and support the students achieve greatness during the International WorldSkills Competition and will be following their training and progress in the competition with great expectation,” adds Trish van der Merwe.
