Northlink College launches new learner management system (LMS)

After thorough research and investigation, Northlink College decided on Moodle as the preferred Learner Management System. Moodle is a “free, open source” system and is currently used by many Educational institutions. It is a global development project designed to support a social constructionist framework of education.

An online survey with a few possible options was created to determine a suitable name for the new Learner Management System. All Northlink College’s staff members and students had the opportunity to vote and at the end the winning name was: Northlink LMS.

Northlink College prides itself in embarking on an LMS for Education and Training. An LMS is a software package that enables the management and delivery of learning content and resources to students. An LMS is web-based to facilitate “anytime, anywhere” access to learning content and administration.

The main objective for an LMS is to improve the throughput rate of our students.

Northlink College is proud to be one of the first FET Colleges ever to implement an LMS.
