Here are some interesting facts that you might not have known about our Northlink College Alumnus Theodore Jantjies, or as MANY South Africans know him – Xander Meintjies.

When were you born and where?

I was born in Heidelberg Cape, Western Cape.

Which school did you matriculate?

Kairos Secondary School.

What was your favourite subject?

My favourite subject at school was definitely Business Economics.

What is your fondest memory about school?

All the drama tours with the drama group and to be the leader of the school’s Disciplinary Committee.

Where did you study drama?

I studied at Northlink College,Panorama Campus

What was your first job ever?

My first professional production, Die Keiser, paid me R2000. I sent some to my mom and also gave some to my Aunty who I live with at the time.

How long have you been on 7de Laan?

Over 8 years now.

What was your first day on set like?

I was undelievably intimidated by being amongst professional actors who know what theyare doing. My first scene was with Zane Meas.

What do you love about being a member of the 7de Laan cast?

Everyone is comfortable with each other and know who they are.

What do you like least about being a member of 7de Laan?

A tannie who slapped me then shouted at me about my character’s awful manners towards his dad.

What has been your most memorable fan experience on 7de Laan?

My first fan mail was from men… “welcome to the industry Theo”

What would you like to see your character achieve or do?

That he eventually owns the Hillside Times.
