About Northlink College

Why choose us

Northlink College is a nationally registered TVET College

Northlink College, a nationally recognized Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution, operates under the guidance of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). Established in 2009, the DHET was created to advance South Africa's vision of a coherent, comprehensive and differentiated post-school education system.

This system plays a crucial role in improving individual lives, supporting the national economy and fostering an equitable and capable society. The DHET's mission is to effectively plan, regulate, and coordinate the provision of post-school education and vocational training opportunities, with a strong emphasis on empowering South Africa’s youth.

A key development in this mission is the imminent promulgation of the TVET Colleges Amendment Bill, which will transfer administrative functions related to TVET Colleges from provincial authorities to the Minister of Higher Education and Training. This strategic shift enables the DHET to create a more unified post-school education system, addressing the country's skills supply challenges more comprehensively.
