Northlink College collaborates with top Bank to equip students to be “ready-to-work”
ABSA Bank has a longstanding Work Integrated Learning (WIL) relationship with the TVET Sector, since 2012, particularly Northlink TVET College. Recently, ABSA Bank opened their placement doors, much wider to the TVET Sector, not just to host the College’s National Certificate Vocational (NCV): Level 4 students for job shadowing for period of 5 – 10 days, but also for the College’s National Certificate / Report 191 N6 students that require a longer placement periods of 18 months.
During June this year, ABSA Bank conducted “Ready-to-work” Workshops at the Northlink TVET College Protea Campus with the help of Lulaway Recruitment. The benefactors were our (NCV): Level 4 students, relevant to the banking industry which included the Finance, Economics and Accounting students.
The workshops were a pre-requisite for the students to commence with placement within the banking sector. Additionally, these students were stringently subjected to a security clearance process of which only students that met the requirements of the security clearance, were hosted by ABSA Bank in June and July.
